Summary
Two video records of the artist's woodblock printmaking practice, produced and released in the context of the exhibition 〈Printmaking — 60 Years of Korean Contemporary Printmaking〉 (co-organized by Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art and the Korean Society of Contemporary Printmaking), held at Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art from July 4 to September 9, 2018. Marking the 60th anniversary of Korean contemporary printmaking, the exhibition surveyed the trajectory and future direction of the field through 140 representative works by 120 artists — encompassing woodblock prints, aquatints, lithographs, serigraphs, and the experimental expansion of the print concept. Shin Jang-sik served as president of the Korean Society of Contemporary Printmaking (2017–2019) and participated as a co-organizer. The main video (Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation 〈Printmaking — Woodblock Printing Process by Artist Shin Jang-sik〉) documents the artist's step-by-step woodblock printing process; the supplementary video (Nonda TV 〈Woodblock Print Experience of 'Geumgangsan' by Artist Shin Jang-sik〉) covers his -themed woodblock work.
