〈Mt. Geumgang〉

A solo exhibition titled 〈Mt. Geumgang〉, held at INDECO Gallery from April 10 to 16, 1996. The show marks the point at which the artist begins to develop Mt. Geumgang in earnest as his sustained subject in the mid-1990s — its subtitle, 'gwannyeom sansu (Conceptual Landscape),' compresses the intent. Alongside the large-scale work that became prototypical of the 〈Mt. Geumgang〉 series — hanji and acrylic on canvas, 454.5×181.8cm, now in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art collection — the show presented 〈Mt. Geumgang〉 in various formats and traces of the early-1990s 〈Vital Force〉 series: 〈Vital Force〉, 〈Arirang — Vital Force〉, 〈Mt. Geumgang — Vital Force〉.
